As part of our ongoing campaign, The Edmonton Food Bank is one of those fundraising opportunities that is very important to us and so we wanted to take a moment to discuss what it is they do in our city, and how you too can become involved!
With the strong mission statement; “To be stewards in the collection of surplus and donated food for the effective distribution, free of charge, to people in need in our community while seeking solutions to the causes of hunger.” the Edmonton Food Bank does some amazing work! They currently work with more than 230 agencies, churches and food depots throughout Edmonton, and serve almost 20,000 people per month through their food hamper programs! In addition, over 500,000 meals and snacks are provided monthly through their affiliated agencies!
The Edmonton Food Bank is a charitable organisation with volunteers and donations playing an important role. From now until mid-January, Urban Sky is looking to match YOUR donations made by visiting our site (up to a total of $2,500). Donations made go towards some essentials like operating costs and food purchases.
